I am a highly motivated and creative individual with a keen interest in mechanical design. My engineering skill highlights are: concept development, concept sketching, technical presenting, 3D modeling, technical documentation, and team leading.

 

Project Experience:

2nd Year Final Project at BCIT: Design of an Internal Gearbox for Downhill Mountain Bikes

• Worked in a three-person team to design and prototype an internal gearbox for downhill bikes

• Lead the conceptual design process and 3D modeling process for the project

• Assessed feasibility of individual component manufacturing and assembly of the entire mechanism

• Used efficient design tools such as QFDs to discover customer needs; this was used to guide the project and give it relevant and tangible final objectives

• Used project management tools such as Gantt charts, work breakdown schemes and task lists

• • Worked in a three-person team to design and prototype a system to load jet skis onto a pickup truck

  • Lead the conceptual design process and 3D modeling process for the project

  • Used project management tools and processes outlined in the Project Management Body of Knowledge handbook

  • Produced technical documentation detailing manufacturing and installation of the unit

Computer Skills

• 3D modeling with both Solidworks and AutoDesk Inventor

  • Experienced with top-down 3D modeling practices

• Solidworks Simulation for stress and modal analysis

• 2D drawing in Autocad

• Programming in C and Matlab

• Performing calculations, and generation of design tables and smart spreadsheets in Microsoft Excel

Awards:

2014 Western Engineering Competition, Innovative Design – 1st Place

Design and innovation competition: I presented the Descent Drive Internal Gearbox, which was the product of my team’s 2nd year capstone project. We qualified for the National Engineering Competition held in March 2014

 

2013 CTAB National Applied Research Contest – 2nd Place

National research paper competition: My team’s final report for The Design of an Internal Gearbox for Downhill Mountain Bikes was entered by BCIT faculty upon completion of the project, and went on to place 2nd out of 21 national entries.
